The Forest Hill Condominium

TORONTO, ONTARIO

Client:   Centrecourt Developments

With:  Quadrangle Architects

Completion:  In Progress

The Forest Hill in uptown Toronto at the corner of Bathurst and Eglinton Avenue West will be one of the first condos with direct subway access to the Eglinton Crosstown LRT. Situated in one of the city’s most affluent neighbourhoods, this fourteen-storey residence features amenities such as terraces on both the second and ninth floors.

Quinn’s design for the landscape spaces along the two street faces of the site is harmonious with the architecture’s timeless contemporary style and responsive to the different character of each street. For the public realm design of busy Eglinton Avenue West, Quinn included a substantive planter to separate the sidewalk from road traffic and facilitate pedestrian-friendly movement. The layout and character of the landscape create a seamless transition from the active urban street to the quieter secondary one along which townhomes are located at grade.

The ninth floor terrace includes trellises and lounge seating, along with areas for outdoor barbecue dining for both groups and private gatherings. Ornamental detailing in the paving and hard materials along with a variety of planting create a garden-like atmosphere. The second floor amenity terrace offers an outdoor fitness component and pet area.
